AMECA were delighted to host Tim Butcher as their guest speaker at a fundraising event on 10th October.
Author of Blood River and Chasing the Devil and former African correspondent for the Telegraph, Tim gave a really exciting talk about his adventures in the Congo, Sierra Leone and Liberia. Blood River is an account of Tim’s daring expedition on a motor-bike, following in the footsteps of Stanley across the Congo. In Chasing the Devil, Tim walks through Sierra Leone and Liberia following the route taken by Graham Greene.
It was a great honour for AMECA to have been able to have such a wonderful author and speaker at one of our events and we were totally captivated by his adventures. Tim has been an enthusiastic supporter of AMECA since our early days and AMECA extend its deepest gratitude to Tim for giving up some of his time in a brief UK visit, to support us.
