Tim Butcher Becomes Our Patron

We are thrilled to let you know that Tim Butcher has agreed to become the first patron of AMECA.

Tim is a former journalist with the Daily Telegraph from 1990 to 2009 as chief war correspondent, Africa bureau chief and Middle East correspondent. A great adventurer, Tim is the author of Blood River, “a journey to Africa’s broken heart” and Chasing the Devil, “the search for Africa’s fighting Spirit”. Tim is also patron to Save the Congo.

We are currently planning an exciting event at St John’s School, Leatherhead, later this year with Tim, once we manage to lure him back to the UK. Tim’s insightful knowledge of the history and politics of Africa, together with his skill as an orator, leave his audiences elated and feeling that they too have walked alongside him.

For Tim’s latest news and updates go to his facebook page.

We are really lucky to have Tim on board and really looking forward to working with him.

Thank you Tim, for all that you bring to AMECA.
