The Phil Edwards PRU, a special school for secondary aged pupils in Croydon, continued its fundraising efforts for AMECA by holding a charity coffee morning on 14th February 2007. The event was well attended and the school’s students and staff provided a warm welcome in addition to some delicious refreshments. A successful raffle made a valuable contribution to the final sum raised. The generosity of the school and its guests was demonstrated in the substantial sum raised. This was the second fundraising activity for AMECA and the PRU have pledged to hold more events in the future. Jane Oliver, the headteacher, said, “It has been heart-warming to see how enthusiastic our students have been in supporting such a deserving charity and it is good for them to be able to visit the website to keep up to date with progress.”
