New Medical Challenge

The Really Wild Travel Company has developed a new challenge for medics, nurses and physiotherapy students. This challenge offers students a really exciting opportunity in Tanzania involving both clinical experience in an African hospital and also a chance to make a real contribution to a local community in need, by helping to renovate a rural clinic. Students will be fundraising in support of The AMECA Trust, their nominated charity.

Sadly, there are many hospitals and rural clinics in Tanzania in dire need of repair and new equipment. Leaking roofs, crumbling plaster, broken medical equipment and a total lack of essential everyday medical supplies are commonplace.

Uru Mission Dispensary provides an ideal location for the first community rural clinic challenge.  Set in lush green surroundings, this tiny clinic is in desperate need of new corrugated roofs, plaster boarding, general repairs and painting. The wards require mosquito nets and a myriad of repairs.

The mission hospitals and clinics of The Catholic Diocese of Moshi, serving the Sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro are excellent facilities with dedicated staff maintaining excellent patient care.
