Ruthie would like to thank all of the new first year medical, nursing and physiotherapy students for the really enthusiastic welcome given to AMECA and to Really Wild. We had an unprecedented attendance at our AMECA stand in the Med School foyer and hopefully you all enjoyed the chocolate brownies!! Special thanks are due to Anna Coates, a 4th year medic, who has done so very much to publicise our work and who has made such a massive contribution, together with the rest of the committee to the promotion of Project Malawi at Nottingham.
We spoke to each of the three new cohorts of students about the opportunities to participate in a new medical fundraising challenge in 2012. The students were also told about the work of AMECA and the need to support bursary awards for future elective students.
For the first year ever, AMECA will be donating elective bursary awards to students of physiotherapy, in addition to the usual nursing and medical awards.
