In October 2016, a group of junior doctors visited Malawi to undertake a research pilot study into maternal health challenges in the 11 villages that form the catchment area for the AMECA Clinic. A recent presentation of their initial findings at the GP AFC Conference was highly commended.
This initial visit was a a big success and AMECA hopes to use this initial data as a springboard to conduct further in depth research on primary health challenges in the communities.
